らんまん大師（四月限定）
高野山の春は、山の下の地域より少し遅れて訪れます。
しかしその勢いはひときわ美しく、生きとし
生けるものすべてに、命の輝きが満ちてゆきます。
らんまん大師は、桜舞う木陰に坐し、
鈴鉦を響かせて、春の到来を喜ぶお姿です。
本作は、真言宗僧侶であり造形作家でもある天野こうゆうが、み教えへの敬意を大切にしながら、自身の解釈のもと制作したお大師さまです。

Ranman Daishi (April)
Ranman Daishi is the April “monthly Daishi” figure created exclusively for Tempū Terrace on Mount Kōyasan.
Spring arrives a little later on Mount Kōya than in the lowlands.
Yet when it comes, it unfolds with striking beauty,
filling all living things with the radiance of life.
Seated beneath drifting cherry blossoms,
Ranman Daishi rings small bells in celebration of spring’s arrival.
This work was created by Kōyū Amano, a Shingon Buddhist monk and sculptural artist, based on his own interpretation with respect for the teachings.
